The reason I blog...

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and
keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny.
Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly
beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experience."

Camping

Lot's and lot's of pictures!! Last weekend we went to Rock port with Joey's family and some of their neighbors. It was a short trip, but lot's of fun. We spent most of the time on the beach, playing games, or on the boat! Clayton trying to boogie board!
He had so much fun playing with this box!!
Not sure that he enjoyed this...but we thought we'd give it a try!
Aspen getting dirty!

Clayton getting dirtier!!
...and dirtier!!
Clayton and Momma
Anna and Stepho mastering the sand castle!

Hard at work!
Stepho, Anna, KB and Tracen
The adults..."supervising" and relaxing!
John, Sandy, and Darcy
Clayton loved being able to get dirty and have Momma not care one bit!

Papa and Clayton

Aspen watching the boat come in...Darcy and her pride and joy...Yoda...yes she took her dog on the boat!!
We had a great trip and hope to be able to do it again!

Edwards Family Fun

A couple weeks ago, Joey's cousin Katie was passing through Utah on her way to Washington from South Carolina. Here is Aspen with Baby Ben. He is 3 months old, but was 3 months premature so he still looks like a brand new baby weighing in at only 8 pounds (he was like 3 lbs. when he was born).

We decided to go to Boondocks with Joey's whole family...his brother and his family were also in town. It was our first time going to Boondocks, but we had a fun time. It was fun to watch everyone get soaked in the bumper boats...

Joey and his mom, Darcy, soaking each other

Papa John and Aspen hiding!

Here's everyone ganging up on Darcy! She was the most wet of all!

Here is Clayton watching all the fun...he wasn't quite tall enough to get in on all the action! It was also a good excuse for me not to have to get too wet! As you can see Clayton's hair is wet because everyone still tried to spray us!

Joey, Clayton, Scott and Caden playing arcade games...finally something Clayton could do!

A few things...

I just wanted to say thanks for all of your advice! I think we were able to explain things to Aspen in a way she understood. She's at this age right now where I feel like I'm doing it all wrong! I think with your first it's kind of trial and error, because we as parents are learning along the way too! I just hope that with the help of our Heavenly Father I somehow manage to not screw both of my kids up, and still be able to remain close friends with them as they grow!!

Joey and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on July 28th!! I have been procrastinating this post because I was hoping to somehow turn some of my pictures (i.e high school, engagement, and wedding) into digital ones! But I have been too busy to even think about it... Too bad we didn't have digital cameras back then!! Anyways, I just want to let Joey know how much I love and appreciate him! He means everything to me, and the last 5 (or 8) years have been so fun!

On another note...I can't believe that it's almost September!! Where has this year gone?? This month was not too eventful. "Breaking Dawn" came out August 2nd and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!! It was different...but I thought it was a good way to end the Twilight Series. Joey's brother/and family were in town this month and we had fun hanging out with them. It was the start of the bow hunt for Joey a couple of weeks ago, so his weekends are spent mainly with the good ole' outdoors!! We have gone camping a little more this year than we have in the past...and I'm loving that! Also, Joey and I are going on the a doe hunt together in Delta/Fillmore this weekend! I'm hoping to shoot another deer this year and hopefully one that is not sick!!

There are pictures to come from some of our adventures this month...take care!

A little help please?

All right so I'm still posting some stuff from July, but in the meantime I'm in need of some help. I don't know how much help y'all will be seeing that your children are probably as young if not younger than mine...but still I'm reaching out to anyone who has some advice...who knows maybe you've studied this stuff!!

So my question is how young/old do your children have to be when you need to have the sex talk with them?? Ahhh!! I know I'm talking about my little 4 year old being curious about all sorts of grown up things...and I'm so terrified to say the wrong thing that I don't know what to tell her!! Okay...breathe...I got it out...that wasn't so bad right?? So if any of you have some advice on what to do I could use it! I feel like she has grown up SO quickly and I was so not expecting to have this conversation with her until...I don't know...she was 25!! I just want some advice on what to tell her and how to explain things in an adult way that she will understand. Okay so there it is...please help!!

Mark, Amber and Rachel's going away BBQ

I forgot this one... On the 8th of July Mark, Amber and Baby Rachel had to say goodbye and head back to Texas. We had a BBQ at my Dad's house to say goodbye. We miss them so much! Especially Rachel (sorry guys you know we love her best!), she is going to get so big and I feel like I'm going to miss it! Now I know how you guys felt when you had to leave Aspen and Clayton! Just remember to tell her that Auntie Peaches is her favorite and hopefully I can come visit you soon! When I was born my Mom asked Mark what he wanted to name me and he said, "Peaches"...so that has become my new nickname for Rachel! It's unique and I love it! Here are some pictures from that night...

Clayton giving Rachel kisses...

Rachel and Auntie Peaches Clayton and Bethany
Mark and my Dad jumping on the tramp...this was hilarious!
Clayton and Aspen tackling Uncle Markie!
Me and Amber (apparently something was funny?!)

Here is a picture of the kids...Clayton, Rachel and Aspen from a day during there trip when Mark and Amber wore them all out...sleeping in the car!

Here's one of Aspen feeding Rachel a bottle...such a good cousin!

24th of July Weekend

I'm getting there I promise! I'm almost caught up!! During the 24th of July weekend we went down to Delta, Utah with our friends Travis and Marcie and their family. We have done this almost every 4th and 24th of July weekend since I have married Joey and he has been ever since he was a kid (being best friends with Travis). I love going there...it's relaxing...and it feels like we are with family! Both Joey and I have adopted Travis's family as our own and we love that we are invited to come each year! It's so fun to see how the kids grow up each year that we go down...there always seems to be a new addition each year too! Anyways, here are some pictures from our trip...

Aspen playing in the water...

Clayton jumping to Dad...

Clayton and Dad Aspen and Dad
Kylee and Clayton waiting for a boat ride! Marcie and Kylee
Joey skiing...Aspen being the flag girl and Travis supervising! First tube ride for Aspen! We went very slow...over a few bumps...she was scared at first...but with Mom and Dad at her side she decided (after a while) that she was having fun!
Riding the water wienie with the kids...Clayton hated it!!
Tyler and Aspen...oh so cute! They hung out on the dock and just talked...all of us were looking at them from the house and wondering what they were talking about!!
These two have been hanging out in Delta since they were both babies! They have become best buds through out the years. It will be so fun to look back on these when they are older! Joey just chillin' with Clayton and Kylee
I thought this picture was so funny! Typical guy asleep in his underwear, hugging his gun!

More Wedding Pics

Here are some more pictures from my sister's wedding that my brother/sister-in-law took. I love the one of me helping my sister into her dress. She was such a beautiful bride and I'm so grateful that I was able to be there and be a part of her wedding. She's such a great sister and we love her!

Me and Eric (Pete's brother)
It was such a pretty wedding!
Helping Mo get her dress on...she was so tan!

My 25th Birthday!

I know I'm still catching up...here are some pictures from my birthday! After unpacking from camping we went to dinner at the Mayan. The kids loved watching the diving show! Afterwards we went to the movie Wall-E. Aspen liked it...Clayton was afraid of it...I thought it was okay...and Joey absolutely hated it! I kept looking over at him during the movie and he had this look on his face like "Why would you do this to me?". It was not one of Pixar's better movie's and I'm sure the kids didn't really understand it, but it wasn't terrible like Joey says it was. Oh well...it was my birthday and he just had to deal with it! I did appreciate that he went with us though...he hates movies at the theatre. I just felt bad that when he finally went he hated it!
