The reason I blog...

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and
keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny.
Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly
beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experience."

Fight Club...

After Park City we went to Mo and Pete's house to play some Wii.

Round 1...Me and my sister boxing...

Joey commentating!

Round 2...Joey and Clayton fighting for real!

Round 3...they do this pretty much everyday! It's so funny...I had to post it!
He knows that he's only supposed to fight with Daddy...and has done really good about that so far!! He's a tough little guy to take on such a big opponent!!

Park City 2008

Ever since I was younger my family has had a tradition to go up to Park City right before Christmas. There is this cute little ornament shop that everyone gets to pick out an ornament for the tree that year. Then we eat at this yummy little pizza place called the Red Banjo! I cannot remember a year not doing this! It is my favorite holiday tradition! It has been fun to keep doing this even as all of us got older and as our family has grown quite a bit! Here are some pictures from this year's trip!

Aspen Picked out a really cute pink "princess" ballerina...
and Clayton picked out a cool moose on a motorcycle!

The Kids...Mark, Me and Melissa...with my Dad! It was so nice to have my brother home, and all of us together! Even if it was just for the night!

Catching up!

I have lots of catching up to do...it's been a busy month...so there may be a few posts!!

After work on Tuesday the 16th me and my Mother-in-law, Darcy, went to dinner at the Olive Garden and then she took me to see "The Nutcracker" by Ballet West at Capitol Theatre!! It was her first time going to a ballet and I was so happy that I was able to go with her! We had amazing seats (4th row from the stage) and it totally took me back to my dancing days!! I really wanted to take Aspen but she is still a little too young to appreciate it...maybe next year!! It was very well done and a great holiday tradition I hope to continue!

I was rear ended by a monster Dodge truck on Thursday the 18th...my neck still hurts from it...but luckily the kids weren't in the car and there wasn't much damage done to my car!

Joey and I both had our work Christmas parties on Friday the 19th. I went to Christopher's Seafood and Steakhouse for lunch and then we went to Asian Star for dinner!! We are both lucky to work for such great companies and with such great people!!

Joey's Elk hunt started on the 20th...so he ended up driving down to Sanpete county and staying the night in Ephraim! I was so jealous that he got to go to my little college town...I wish I could have gone with him! Although I'm kind of glad I didn't because I'm not the biggest fan of the cold...or the snow!! He ended up shooting his Elk in Fairview canyon...so we will soon have a freezer full of Elk meat!! I don't know how...but he managed to drag the Elk off the mountain by himself! And then with the help of a friendly bystander got it lifted in two separate pieces into the back of the truck! I'm sure you all don't care about all the gory details...anyways...here are some pictures he took while he was down there!

It's too bad he wasn't hunting deer also...he saw a lot of them!!A little buck...
Joey with his Elk...it was an antlerless hunt...but this cow was still Ginormous!!

Congrats babe!

A good laugh!

I thought you all might like a good laugh! I could not stop laughing when I got this picture from Joey's dad. This picture says it all....this is what I meant by taking family pictures was a DISASTER!!! Ha, Ha!

Mini Photo Shoot!

Here are some pictures from my mini at-home photo shoot! I got tons of Aspen because she doesn't mind the whole picture thing as much as Clayton does. He doesn't like to look at the camera!! But I thought I got some cute ones of both of them!!

Here are my favorites...

Aspen in her Christmas dress by the tree
Yummy!Peak a boo!
Our little Stud!!
Playing in the snow...
Clayton then realized that the snow was cold! He kept saying, "Mom, S' Fweezin!"
After a hard day's work...having a much needed nap!!

Happy Holidays!!

I had lots of fun making our Christmas cards this year...but I had a hard time choosing which one to send out! I thought I'd post them here for you to see! We had tried having Joey's dad take a few pictures of the whole family together one night and neither one of the kids would cooperate...they were awful! Needless to say it was a DISASTER...and we didn't get a single decent picture. So one by one I took the kids out in our back yard early this month and took some pictures of them...I thought we got some good ones. But sad to say you won't be seeing mine and Joey's pretty faces on the cards...maybe next year!! We hope you all have a very Happy Holiday Season! Enjoy the time with you families and remember the true meaning of Christmas!

The cow jumped over the MOON!

I don't know if any of you noticed or not, but last Friday night the moon was HUGE!! It actually was the fullest moon of the year. The reason being that it was closer to the Earth than it normally is. Anyways, no I do not want to be and astrologist...I've just been playing around with my new camera that Joey got me for Christmas (early!), and I thought these pictures were pretty sweet! So here you go...

Zoomed in as close as I could...
Joey had his spotting scope out and I thought I'd try to take a picture through it. It was actually quite difficult to line the camera up through the scope...but the result was pretty cool!

Countdown to Christmas!

I thought it would be fun to have the kids make candy chains to count down the days til Christmas! It ended up being a fun little project for the 3 of us (daddy was at school)! Aspen was having fun picking out her candy and keeping it away from Clayton. But Clayton didn't seem too concerned...he new there was plenty of chocolate to go around and in his mouth!!

O Christmas Tree!

I thought I'd be sneaky and put up the tree after the kids went to bed the night after Thanksgiving, but the next morning they "helped" me re-arrange their special ornaments the way they wanted them! I think next year I'll actually try and share the tree experience...I'm a little o.c.d about it looking a certain way, which has gotten Joey off the hook the last 5 years!! But I felt bad afterwards looking at all my friends blogs and seeing them all doing it as a family!! It's something I remember doing with my own family when I was younger...so I guess next year we'll try that!! Anywhoo, here are some pics of the kids with the tree!

Clayton's favorite ornament is the "choo-choo" he got last year... One of our traditions that we had in my family was to go up to Park City and pick a new ornament for the tree every year. So we have carried that tradition in our family...the kids love to see all there ornaments...and I secretly like to look at all of my old ones too!

Clayton and Daddy!
Aspen with her ballerina she picked last year...
Mommy and Clayton...he wouldn't wear the Santa hat himself!
Last year we got Aspen this cute purple tree for her room...it just matches so perfectly! She was so excited to put it up in her room again this year!

Clayton was a little jealous that Aspen had her own tree...so I put this little one in his room...then Aspen got jealous that Clayton had colorful lights! It just never ends!!!

So much to be thankful for...

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! We had a very nice day spent with family and friends!! Joey started his day off hunting at 4 am!! No thank you! I snuggled with my kids in my bed while they watched cartoons and mommy got an extra bit of sleeping in!!! Aspen was watching a Thanksgiving day "Blue's Clue's" when she asked, "Mom what are we thankful for?". I told her that I was thankful for our family, Daddy, Her and Clayton, our friends, our warm house, Heavenly Father and Jesus. I then asked her what she was thankful for and she replied..."I'm thankful for your bedroom!". I thought it was so cute! I asked why and she said, "because it's nice!". We then made a chocolate pie and apple crisp to take over to Joey's parents house. We were able to enjoy a nice lunch/dinner with our good friends, the Dewitt Family! Joey's sister's both had surgery on their elbows a couple days before so they were both pretty out of it! It's crazy that they both ended up having surgery...guess it's a twin thing!!

Our cute little Aspen!!
Notice her owie on her cheek...Clayton bit a nice chunk out of it earlier! He's going through a bad phase!

Edwards/Dewitt Family Fun!

Like Mother...Like Son!! And she wonders where her kid's get it from!! Here's Joey and I trying to take a nice Thanksgiving photo...when his Mom (Darcy) thought she'd be funny in the background!

We then headed over to my Dad's house for some Thanksgiving "Grazing"!! I didn't take very many pictures while we were there, but we had a fun time all being together. We missed you Mark, Amber and Rachel!!!

Pete and Mo
All the Grand kids (minus Rachel) the best shot we could get!! We totally did not plan the plaid thing!! Aspen, Ethan, Clayton, and Nathan
Ethan and my step brother Jairus
I have so much to be thankful for! I have a wonderful, loving husband who is so patient with me! He is my best friend and loves me just the way that I am...crazy and everything!! ;) He is the best Daddy to Aspen and Clayton! I love the way he can make us laugh even if we are trying to be angry with him!! I am so thankful for my two amazing children! I'm so happy that I have been given the opportunity to be their Mom! I'm thankful for mine and Joey's families, for our friends, our freedom, our home, our jobs, and even my bedroom!! Most importantly, I'm thankful for the knowledge of the Gospel! I'm so thankful for the Atonement and for our loving Heavenly Father and His Son. I hope you all had a nice weekend and filled your tummy's with yummy Turkey Day food! Happy Thanksgiving!!
