The reason I blog...

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and
keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny.
Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly
beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experience."

So this weekend I went with my sister Melissa and her soon to be mother-in-law Carol to pick out wedding dresses. It was so fun to be there and see her try on a thousand dresses! She finally found the perfect dress (here is a teeny tiny preview...it's a surprise)! We also looked at (and made me try on) bridesmaid dresses and I think she decided on a really cute summery dress. I'm just so happy that she included me in this fun occasion and can't wait til the wedding in July!

We also signed Aspen up for learn-to-skate classes this weekend at the Murray Ice rink. She is so excited to start her "ice skating school" next week. We'll definitely post some pictures of that next week!

The Kids...

Papa Ron and Granny got Aspen this cute dress up costume for Valentine's Day and she absolutely loves it! She pretty much wore it all weekend and I'm sure it will be the new outfit she changes into each day after day care.

Here is Clayton in his Spiderman Jammies! It's hard to tell in these pictures but he finally got a haircut! Auntie Mo-mo cut it for him and did such a good job! He is our cute little man!

My Little Sister!

So my little sis, Melissa (Mo) is officially engaged to Pete Mossberg! Can you believe it!! They are getting married July 5th and we are all so excited for them. Pete is a great guy and is definitely the best thing for Mo. I'm so excited to go dress shopping and help her with the planning...as I am her maid of honor! Congratulations guys!!

All about us!

Okay, so here is everything you wanted to know about Joey and I. I didn't realize until today that I had also been tagged by Marcie a while ago, sorry! Anyways here you go...

How long have you been married? It will be 5 years in July.
How long did you date? 2 1/2 years
How old are you? Joey turned 25 in January, and will turn 25 in July.
Who eats more? Ummm, I do...I love food! I think Joey lost his appetite when he went to boot camp.
Who said I love you first? Joey said it first, but I think I knew I loved him first. I was afraid to say anything because he told me it was something he didn't say very often...even to his family. Once he told me though, he has never stopped and I love him for that!
Who can sing better? Probably Joey...I'm pretty musically challanged!
Who is smarter? I'd like to say that I am when it comes to our kids. But when it comes to everything else Joey is much smarter . His favorite thing to say to me when I have a blonde moment is "It's a good thing your pretty!"
Whose temper is worse? I'm not sure...I think I get upset more often than Joey though.
Who does the laundry? I hate laundry!!! But I'm usually the one to do it... although Joey is capable of doing his own when he runs out of the neccessities!
Who does the dishes? Lately, Joey has been. But we usually both do.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? It depends on how our room is arranged. I make Joey sleep on the side closest to the door...that way if there's an intruder they'll get to Joey first. I know it sounds silly but it's true. So right now Joey is on the right side! He's so good to me!
Who pays the bills? We both make the $$...but I pay the bills and balance the checkbook.
Who mows the lawn? Up until last summer Joey did...because I didn't know how! I finally got brave and did it while he was out of town. It's actually not so bad!
Who cooks dinner? Usually I do...but Joey's pretty good in the kitchen when he wants to be. We just got a smoker...so this has been his new hobby to smoke salmon, deer meat, ham...pretty much everything!
Who drives when you are together? Joey always does...unless he wants to make me mad. I hate to drive...and we both know that I'm not very good at it!
Who is more stubborn? Definitely Joey!!!! I will always give in...and he never will! So you learn to pick your battles!
Who kissed who first? I think it was mutual. Joey was a gentleman and it took him a few dates to get the nerve. He even had New Years as an excuse on the 2nd date!
Who asked who out first? Now that's a funny story! It's a long one so I'll just say that better late than never...Joey finally did!
Who proposed? Joey did about two weeks after he got home from Iraq. I was working at Old Navy at the time and he came in with a bouquet of flowers and totally surprised me! The only downfall was that he did it at the beginning of an 8 hour shift...and I couldn't leave!
Who has more friends? Joey has more friends between school, work and the Marines, but they are all my friends too. I have a small circle of friends that I still stay in touch with but it's tough once you have kids and live farther away.
Who has more siblings? Joey does... he has two younger twin sisters and an older brother. I have a younger sister and an older brother.
Who wears the pants in the family? I think I speak for most women when I say that my husband wears the pants, but I tell him which ones to wear!

Sick Days!

Let me paint you a picture of what it's been like at our house the last two days...Tuesday I picked Clayton and Aspen up from daycare a little earlier than usual. Clayton wasn't feeling very well and had thrown up earlier that day. As I pulled Clayton out of his car seat I got a nice surprise when he threw up all over me and all over the garage floor. I hurried and carried him upstairs to the kitchen where he threw up again. After a bath and some cleaning up of the both of us, he seemed to be feeling a little better. I was debating whether or not I was going to call in sick on Wednesday when Aspen told me she had the hiccups and that she felt sick too. I kind of thought she was faking it to get the attention that Clayton was getting...until she threw up on the kitchen floor as well. Later that night Joey and I were watching TV while Aspen was laying in her "sleeping bag" on the floor next to a large bowl. She sat up and said her belly hurt...then she leaned into the bowl and started making the funniest noises too hard to explain in writing! She had her head completely buried inside the bowl while making these vomiting noises. It's sad but I wish I could have recorded her! After throwing up she just said..."That was disgusting!!" A little while later she gets up and says, "Mom I need to go potty." I didn't think much of it until I heard her freaking out. I walked into the bathroom to see my sweet little girl with her pants around her ankles and vomit all over the floor and all over the front of the toilet. She didn't quite get there in time. I felt so bad for her! Needless to say, I stayed home on Wednesday and it was a day of rest (and without vomit)! We all took naps and played together! It must have been one of those 24 hour yucky bugs...but it's over thank goodness!

Look how different!

I just came across this picture of us at the Grizzlies/Aces game from last year. The Jersey's were soo big on the kids back then. And Clayton was so tiny!

Grizzlies vs Aces Game

The Grizzlies were playing the Alaska Aces last night, which is the team that my brother Mark worked for last year. He was able to get a hold of the teams goalie to get us some tickets. So we got the kids dressed in their Aces hockey jersey's and Joey was geared up with his Aces jacket and hat, and we started cheering for the other team! We had a lot of fun, although the kids were getting cranky and tired towards the end of the game. Also losing there patience to take pictures!

Aspen didn't quite know what to think of Grizzbee up close...she loved watching him far away! Little did she know that underneath that bear costume was a good friend of ours.

We could not for the life of us get the kids to look at the camera at the same time! They are just like there dad (a little ADD!). Too Funny!!
