On the 3rd Friday of every month I have a girls night (book club) with a group of friends! It has been so much fun!! Well last Friday only two of us were able to make it...so we decided to go see a movie. We went to the Gateway and saw "The Women"...and I have to say it's going on my favorites list!! I was laughing so hard that it brought tears to my eyes! My favorite was that I got to the end of the movie and realized that there were no men in this entire movie...but it was great! I definitely recommend this movie to all women!! Here is the trailer for you to see what it's about...
The reason I blog...
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and~Gordon B. Hinckley
keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny.
Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly
beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experience."

The Mama Test
I had a couple of friends send this to my e-mail and I thought it was so cute I decided to put it on the blog!
The Mama Test
I was out walking with my 6 year old son. He picked up
something off the ground and started to put it in his mouth. I took the
item away from him and I asked him not to do that.
"Why?" my son asked.
"Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been,
it's dirty, and probably has germs", I replied.
At this point, my son looked at me with total admiration and asked,
"Mama, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart."
I was thinking quickly and replied,
"All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mama Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mama."
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but he was evidently
pondering this new information.
"OH...I get it!", he beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to
be the dad."
"Exactly", I replied back with a big smile on my face.
Hope all you Mama's enjoyed that as much as I did! When you are finished laughing, send this to your Mama friends!

Tag...I'm it??
Okay, Mel this is for you! Happy Birthday!!
Here are 5 quirky things about me...
1. I make the bed before we sleep at night. I'm terrible at making the bed during the day, but I have to have the sheets and blankets straightened out before I get in bed or I can't fall asleep! It drives me crazy to get into a bed with tangled bedding!
2. I have a routine that I follow everytime I shower...Shampoo, Rinse, Condition, Wash body, Shave, Rinse conditioner, Wash face. Joey thinks I do it in a weird order...but it just makes sense to me!?!
3. I'm a perfectionist about weird things which is why I don't complete many of the projects I start...it just takes to much energy to complete it perfectly!
4. I hate Jell-O!! This is something Joey just found out about me after 8 years of being together!
5. I can still put my legs back behind my head!
I tag...anyone who wants to do this!

Utah State Fair
Joey and I love the Fair!! We've made it a tradition to go every year! There is absolutely nothing better than yummy...not good for you...deep fried...so good to eat Fair food! We were a little disappointed in it this year though! It was just not as good as we remember it being in the past!? Here are some pictures from this years trip. The kids had so much fun...they loved the rides...and seeing all the farm animals!
Going on the Merry-go-round with the kids! By far their favorite ride!
Aspen and Daddy
Some of the rides we went on...
Me and Clayton going down the big slide!Going on the Merry-go-round with the kids! By far their favorite ride!
Delta...again!
Last weekend we went down to Delta again for the doe hunt. We got a couple shots but luck was not with us so we didn't end up getting anything. Our friends, the Holder's went down that same weekend so we hung out on the boat with them for a day! I always take way too many boating pictures! It's so hard not too when Joey and Travis are out there together!!
HELP!!!
Our little Bubba enjoying the boat ride!
Just chillin' Mom!

New Kids on the Block Baby!!
So this morning I'm driving in my car taking my kids to day care before work...listening to 107.9 The Mix and I hear "caller #10 wins the tickets"! So I say what the heck and call in...my first try I hear it ringing and Jay answers the phone and asks my name. I tell him and he says he wants to hear me sing a little NKOTB. So, I totally go into shock thinking...it's been ages since I've heard them...I don't know if I remember anything they sing. And then I start busting out what I think is their song "The Right Stuff"!?! It was hilarious...any body who knows me know's that I cannot carry a tune...so I'm hoping that none of you heard me this morning!! I really don't care though...cause I'm going to the New Kids on the Block concert on November 15th!! I'm super excited and I have no idea who I'm going with but I have 2 extra tickets! I was a huge NKOTB fan when I was younger! I was such a geek and had posters, a bedspread & sheets, all the Barbie's (my favorite was Jordan) and all their tapes! Yes TAPES...we didn't have CD's back then!! I can't believe I just said "back then"...I'm so old!! I never got to go to their concert when I was younger...so now I get to make up for it! Maybe I should start listening to their music again so that I can refresh my memory!!

#19
Yay! I can already check one of my goals off my list! It was an easy one, but you have to start somewhere right?
#19 I renewed my application to the UofU for Spring 2009. I was admitted for Fall 2008 and then procrastinated and never enrolled. But I am going to finally go back to school...even if it kills me!!
Also, working on #29 Memorizing the Presidents of the U.S. I bought a place mat at the $1 store yesterday that has pictures of all the presidents up to date and info about them...Joey laughed at me but I am going to memorize them! I'm not the smartest when it comes to U.S. History...but I'm going to try my best to learn more about it! I figured I'd start with the Presidents! (I know we learned this in elementary...but I apparently only stored it into my short term memory card and erased it after the test!!) Anyways...I was very surprised that I hadn't even ever heard of a lot of them!! I guess nothing cool happened while they were in office?? Joey is a big history buff and can remember dates/people etc. and I feel so dumb sometimes talking to him about it...he usually just tells me that it's a good thing I'm pretty! Well this pretty face is determined to have a conversation with him about our countries history and actually know what he's talking about!! Wish me luck!!

My 101 in 1001!!
So I saw this on someone else's blog and thought it was a great idea! I always write out lists of things I want to do and goals that I want to accomplish (Joey likes to laugh when he finds these lists spread all over the house too!). My problem is that I have a hard time reaching those goals because I forget about them...especially when those lists of things to do end up thrown away! So this is a list of 101 things I want to accomplish in 1001 days!! I figured if I published them, maybe it would push me too achieve them and blog them as I check them off the list! Doe Hunt
Saturday morning was the opening morning of mine and Joey's Antlerless (doe) hunt down in Delta. We drove down Friday night with the kids and woke up bright and early Saturday morning. I was totally siked!! I spotted the first group of deer at about 7 am...I got out of the truck...aimed...and the the muzzleloader didn't go off!! We had this problem last year, for some reason the caps wouldn't light the gun powder and therefore...no shot!! Joey cleaned the gun like crazy and can't figure it out!?! Well about 30 minutes later I had another chance...I didn't expect the gun to actually fire...it didn't exactly go off when it should have...kind of a delayed reaction. Anyways, Joey caught up to it and got a shot on it with his bow from about 40 yards and hit her!! I've never followed a blood trail before...so that was pretty sweet! (Last year when I shot my deer she fell over right where I shot her!) We tried to get another (legal) shot on a deer, but were unsuccesful...so I guess we'll try again next weekend. We're going to use a different gun...so hopefully I'll have better luck! It's exciting to be able to share this hobby with Joey! It's definitely not something that I would have done before I met him...who would've known that I actually enjoy it!
Here's a picture of Joey with his doe... (By the way he did not want me to take a picture of him...he says you don't take a picture if it doesn't have antlers...but I had to get it for the blog!) I also wish I would have gotten one of me shaking his hand, which for some reason is in the hunting handbook for all men that kill something...they must have a congratulatory handshake!! Don't worry though...I'll remember to get one when I kill mine! Ha, ha! Mmmmmmm...bring on the deer steaks!!
