The reason I blog...

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and
keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny.
Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly
beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experience."

Mother's Day Weekend

Last weekend was so much fun, but went by way too fast! We went to dinner with Travis, Marcie and Kylee on Saturday night and then played some rock band afterwards. By the end of the night Kylee was sooo tired and being so silly. She started to sing songs into the mic and we had to get her on video because she was cracking us up...

You can't see her very well but she's singing her ABC's!

We also went to the Zoo for Mother's Day! It was lot's of fun and the kids really enjoyed it. Aspen and Daddy with the Giraffes!
Aspen's little bum crack hanging out!
The bears started attacking each other!
Clayton with his cute hat!
It was a great Mother's Day! I love being a Mom and I have the two greatest kids! (3 including Joey!)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's! I just wanted to take a minute and tell my Mom, Mother-in-law, and Step Mom how much I love and appreciate them! I probably don't say it often enough but I am so thankful to them for their great examples to me.

Mom you have done such a great job raising us three kids! You have taught me so much about how to be a great Mom. I'm so thankful for the times growing up that you took us to church. I now know how hard it is to get the kids ready and haul them to the church...it's not an easy task...but you did it and I am grateful! I also cherish the memories of us attempting Family Home Evenings...we loved going to the DQ and getting dilly bars on Monday nights! You are such a great Grandma to my kids and I'm thankful for that as well. I hate that you live so far away and that we don't get to see you as often as we'd like...but the kids love spending time with you when you are here. I hope you had a Happy Mother's Day...and I love you!

Darcy, what can I say... You have been so great to welcome me into your family! You have always been there for me, and I know that you are always on my side! I couldn't have asked for a better Mother to raise Joey...I'm sure it wasn't an easy task! You have raised 4 fantastic kids and there is something to say about that! I will forever be grateful for the times we got to know each other while Joey was in Iraq and for the help in planning our wedding! You have taught me so much about how to raise a good family...and most of all how to cook! You too are a great Grandma to our kids! They love going to Grandma's house and spending time with you and Yoda! I know I don't say it often enough but I do love and appreciate you! Thanks for being such a great Mother-in-law!

Kim, you are like my second Mom! You have taught me so much in the little time we have known each other. I am amazed at the accomplishments you have made while raising 6 kids on your own! I don't know how you did it, but it makes me feel like I can do it too! You are a great Mother and "Granny", and most of all a great friend! I love that I am able to ask you for advice on anything...especially when it comes to my own kids! I have loved getting to know you and your family and I'm grateful that you are now a part of mine! We love you and hope you had a nice Mother's Day!

Now that I've gone and gotten all sappy...I need to go blow my nose! Happy Mother's Day to you all! XOXO!

My Promotion!!

I got a promotion this week at work! It's exciting considering I have only been there for 7 months! I will be working in a different department within the same office at the University of Utah. I'm the Asst. Supervisor of Residency...and I am basically the only person in the department besides the director...so I will be working mostly on my own...which I'm excited about! I also got a raise...which is always a plus!!
Joey and I went to Tepanaki for dinner last night to celebrate! Auntie Stepho was so very gracious to watch the kids for us. It was our first time ever eating there...and I was a little hesitant because I've never had Japanese food before. But the food was amazing!! And the entertainment was great! They cook your dinner right in front of you...and throw in a few tricks. We even caught shrimp in our mouth that the chef flew at us! We had a little 2 year old boy sitting at our table and it made me wish that we had brought the kids...because I know they would have loved it. But I'm sure we'll be going there again...so maybe next time!

It made me happy that Joey was just as excited about my promotion as I was. He is such a great husband and I love him so much! Thank you Joey for being so great to me!

Fun filled weekend!

This weekend went by way too fast! I haven't even touched the computer in two days...which is probably a good thing! Anyways...I'm sitting here catching up on all my updates from the weekend (I seriously love Google Reader...if you do not have it you need to get it!) and it's way past my bed time, but I thought I'd get this post in before tomorrow...

Saturday, Joey and I drove out to Oakley, UT (by Kamas) to go see one of Joey's old Marine buddies, Dusty Sexton, who had just come home from another tour in Iraq. It was good to see him again! It's always fun to sit down and hear stories of Joey's time in the Marines...they are usually very entertaining! We are glad that he is home safe and I'm so glad that Joey doesn't have to go through that again! On the way home we saw tons of deer and almost hit one! It got Joey and I excited for the deer hunt!

Sunday we had some friends, Rich and Mary and there cute kids Megan and Cody come over for dinner. We had lots of fun playing Rock Band (we gave in and bought it two weeks ago and can't stop playing!). Here are some pics...
