The reason I blog...

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and
keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny.
Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly
beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experience."

Oh no! Not another learning experience!

So I just learned something so fun yesterday...  On the new Yahoo! mail when you compose a new message you can click on the subject button and it will fill it in for you...with some of the most random sayings!  That's where I got the title for this post...and I thought it was kinda fitting!  But they make me laugh...sometimes outloud to myself...

Anyways...sorry that was really random...here are some pictures I took yesterday of the kids after church.  They are the cutest!  I wish I could get them to sit still for a picture together but the one's of them kissing each other are precious and about as good as I'm gonna get!

We had a really good day yesterday...and the kids did exceptionally well at church!  It's become more of a routine for us lately so I think they are starting to get used to the whole reverence thing!  Anyways...things are starting to come together for me personally and I have some really exciting things to look forward to over the next few months.  I just want to say thanks to all of you for your kind comments and all your love and support towards our family.  It's an adjustment not only for us but for all of you as well, and I appreciate your support and prayers and I feel the strength from them daily!

More of CJ's birthday...

These pics were taken on Clayton's actual birthday, September 22nd.  It was sort of a crazy day...so we didn't do much...but I made a cake.  We sang him "Happy Birthday"...and then he licked the frosting off half of the cake...it was late and none of us ended up actually eating any of the cake.  I think Aspen was already asleep too.  Oh well...we made it up to him at his party I guess.  And he's not gonna remember...that is until he gets older and reads this right?!

Slide show of Clayton's Birthday Party...in September!

Clayton's birthday was thrown together a little last minute...but we are grateful that our friends and family were still able to come wish the Dude a happy 3rd b-day!  He was real excited about all the fun things he got...and loved his spiderman cake (ya i went back to buying them after the ugly cake experience for Aspen's last birthday...I need cake decorating boot camp before i'm ever gonna do that again!).  I love that both the kids birthdays are somewhat in the summer so we can have outside birthday's...less cleaning for me to do!

Update...finally!

I officially suck at blogging...I have tons of stuff/pictures to blog.  But since it's been so long...rather than post about Clayton's 3rd birthday (in September), Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas...since you know it's...um *cough*...March.  I thought I'd give you all an update on what we've been up to lately...

Aspen is loving Kindergarten...she has grown so much this year academically.  She has homework everynight...which she usually loves doing...but sometimes we fight and cry about having to do it.  Usually it's me doing the fighting and crying...cause it takes time and patience to sit with a 5 year old and help her slowly write the answers down! But for the most part it's fun!  She's been ice skating a lot lately...and just proudly passed her Level 1 class.   She came home and told me, "Mom, I'm the winner.  I won!"  when she showed me her certificate and patch.  She's doing really well and it makes me happy that she's succeeding.  Although I never thought I'd have a figure skater in the family!  We are thinking about putting her in private lessons...and then she'll be doing the Spring Ice Show again this year.  She's so sweet when she wants to be...and she can be a little devilish when she wants to also.  But I love her just the same!  Her favorite foods right now are chicken and rice, chocolate milk, bug juice, hot chocolate and plain hershey's chocolate bars...she takes after her Momma on the last one!

Clayton...my little man is growing so fast!  I think he just went through a growth spurt recently cause all is 3T clothes are too snug for him and i'm buying size 4 stuff already!  He's quickly gaining on his big sister!  He is in love with everything Transformers or Star Wars!  And there are somedays he doesn't change out of his Optimus Prime halloween costume (which I promise I will one day get around to posting!).  He follows Aspen around all day...playing whatever she decides for him to play.  But then there's times i will find him destroying lego buildings with his star wars/transformer guys all by himself...and it's so darn cute!  Clayton is also ice skating these days!  According to Joey he hates it, but when he's at home he's constantly showing me his moves!  So I think in time he'll start to love it as much as Aspen does!  His favorite foods right now are hotdogs, corn dogs with mustard, chocolate milk, candy candy candy...and occasionally a sip of mom's Docta Peppa!  The kid has a major sweet tooth!  He is the happiest when he wakes up...unless you are trying to dress him...so he usually gets to go to day care in his jammies!  He hates sleeping in his bed...and has become, to my dismay, my new bed buddy!  He calls them sleepovers in mom's room...and i have a hard time denying him at 3 am!  I'm working on it...

Update on me...well things are going ok.  I'm still working full time, enjoying my nights off with the kids...or sometimes with out them.  Watching lots of movies, taking some pictures, editing some pictures, doing some sewing, a little rearranging here and there.  And most recently "training" to run in a 5k...to most of you that's nothing...to me who hates running...it will be a big accomplishment!  My life is pretty boring!  Don't know if all of you know...in fact probably most of you don't...Joey and I seperated a few months back.  I'm ok, he's ok, the kids are ok!  We are making the best of the situation and doing well as friends.  I wasn't planning on saying anything...but it's maybe why I haven't blogged anything since September.  And I figure I need to get on with things and reclaim my blog!  So that's why the change in the website needed to happen.  I will still probably update you on Joey every once in a while as he's still a HUGE part of this family...I hope I won't lose those of you that are friends with him...I like to think we are friends too!  Although, I'm not sure any of you still check this blog since it's been so long since i've updated!  Anyways, I'm hoping to start blogging more regularly...showing you some pictures...and sharing some things i've been working on...and what the kids are up to.  And eventually I'll get around to posting some of the things we've done the last 6 months!! So don't be afraid to comment and say hi...really I would love it!!

[ Choke Cherry Creek Ranch ]

We were invited to spend a weekend with our friends Steven and Bonnie at their ranch in southern Utah.  We had a really fun time just hanging out and meeting some really cool people.
Here are some pics from our weekend...

[ Ultimate Girls Night ]

Towards the end of August my sister-in-law Stephanie won tickets to the Annual B98.7 "Erin’s Slumber Party".  It's held at the Marriot hotel late at night and they have everything you would do at a slumber party with the girls.  Everything from mini manicures/pedicures, waxing, massages, yummy food, to shopping.  They also had an mini concert with Michael Johns...the HOT Australian dude from American Idol!  We were walking around and I see this guy walking towards us in a white robe...and all I can do is point at him and say..."Hey, that's him!"  And he's just like "Hi" and starts laughing!  How embarassing is that?!!  Nobody even was really around him or noticing that he's walkin through the crowd...and that's what I say!!   Oh well...Here are some pics from our fun night...I totally forgot about these until tonight!
How did I not get any pics of all of us?!  Dang...well these will have to do...

Here's Stephanie...

[ 1st day of Kindergarten ]

So like I said before, Aspen started Kindergarten this year!  It's been a crazy transition trying to figure out the whole half-day situation with daycare and trying to get her too and from school.  But overall it's been going well!

We went school shopping about a week before school started and got her some cute outfits...that was always a fun tradition we had with my mom every year!  It was hard not to just pick everything out for her...I tried to let her pick out things SHE liked.  So for the first day of school I had a few outfits layed out and asked her to choose something to wear...of course she has to pick her favorite t-shirt over mommies favorite dress!  oh well!  She looked cute regardless!  Here are a few pics we took before school...my little diva!!

This is her "Mom, are we done yet?" pose...

I love this one in black & white too!

Aspen is loving school and learning SO much everyday!  She is going to a great school and has the best teacher, Miss Amy.  We really couldn't have asked for anyone better!  I can't believe the first term is already over!
Here she is looking for Mom after school!

[Where to even begin…]

The last few months have been extremely crazy for our family. I felt like I was just catching up from Summer when August hit us and we transitioned into our first ever school experience. Aspen started Kindergarten and our life became more hectic! I’m still working up at the U…but driving home during my lunch break to take her from Day Care to school. Crazy I know…but we love our babysitter, love her school and teacher, and I love my job. I can't decide which to give up...I know something will need to change soon but for now this is our daily routine. Except for some lifesaving help from my Dad who helps out as often as he can by taking Aspen for me on the days he doesn't work the night before. Aspen loves it when Grampa takes her because he brings her apple pies from “MicketDonalds”!  The first day after he took her I picked her up and she says..."I like it better when Grampa takes me to school because he brings me pie".  So the next day I thought I'd be nice and stop to get her a treat...I always get it wrong...turns out she likes apple better than cherry!!
So, August flew by…with no posts on the blog.

And then September hit us…with no posts on the blog.

I tried to catch up in October…and got to about the end of July’s activities! So that leaves me with updates needed from August, September, October, November and now it’s already December!! Where has the time gone?!

There have been many changes in our family that have kept me from being motivated to post anything. But this is supposed to be our family journal of events…so I’m going to try to update on all the fun things we’ve done the last 4 months…not about the not so fun things. And… I have about a bazillion pictures to load, edit, and post for you all to see!

I just want to thank all of our family and friends for the love and support they give our family! I’m especially grateful for you this time of the year. I try to keep up on all your blogs to check out what you’ve all been up to…and you all encourage me without even knowing it!! So thank you and I’m sorry I don’t comment as often as I should!

So if there is anyone out there still reading this neglected blog…lot’s of updates coming soon…and here’s to a new year coming soon too!! Hopefully it will be better than 2009!

And because no post is good with out a picture...here are a few of my favorites right now...
